The Khulna district administration at a preparatory meeting finalised programmes in observance of the National Mourning Day-2015 in a befitting manner on August 15 (Saturday). Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Md Mostafa Kamal presided over the meeting held at the conference room of the DC’s office recently. The district and upazila administrations, Awami League and its associate organisations, Muktijoddha Sangsads, different socio-cultural and professional organisations and educational institutions have chalked out separate programmes in observance of the 40th anniversary of assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of the country’s independence.
The programmes include hoisting the national flag at half-mast atop the buildings of the government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices, flying black flags and wearing black badges, bringing out morning processions and holding discussion in commemoration of the national leader. Floral wreaths will be placed at the monument of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangladesh Betar, Khulna regional office premises in the city before observing a one-minute silence there.
