Khulna City Corporation cattle market inaugurated

KHULNA: The lone cattle market for selling and buying of sacrificial animal, arranged by Khulna City Corporation (KCC), was inaugurated in Zoragate area here yesterday afternoon, reports BSS.

Former State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, MP, inaugurated the cattle market with KCC mayor Md Moniruzzamam Mony in the chair.

KCC panel mayors Anisur Rahman Biswas, Hafizur Rahman, Ruma Khatun, KCC councilors, Officers, Employees, among others, attended the function.

KCC officials said today, tight security measures were taken in and around the cattle market.

Palash Kanti Bala, Chief executive officer of KCC, said the cattle market will continue till Eid day morning.

“We have taken different arrangement for peaceful trading of sacrificial animals,” he said.

Besides, Khulna district administration has already taken preparation to set up a total of 33 traditional and makeshift cattle markets at different places in nine upazilas of the district for trading the sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
