Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP arrested two suspected members of banned Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Tejgaon Industrial area in Dhaka on Wednesday night, reports UNB.
The arrested individuals were identified as Jahirul Islam, 25, and Ashraf Hossain Shaon, 34. Based on secret information, a CTTC team conducted a raid at Hatirjheel and arrested the two suspects, said DMP Deputy Commissioner Rahman.
During preliminary interrogation, they revealed that they joined in the ABT through Mosharraf alias Abdullah in 2014.
They usually maintain correspondence with other ABT members as well as preach their extreme religious ideology through a website (tutanota.com) using fake email ID, the DC (Media) said.
Hasan, who went to India and was arrested by Indian Police recently, was an active ABT member and the arrested duo had been maintaining close relations with him.
