Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat could have been sent to Thailand for better treatment had he not recovered fully from the problem of his eyes.
Mosaddek has been suffering from a lingering corneal infection, which kept him out of the Test series against Australia. Mominul Haque replaced him in the team.
Such infections usually take three weeks to heal when treated, but his case is taking longer.
“Eye specialist advised to wait two weeks more. If he doesn’t recover from the problem after two weeks, he could have been sent to Thailand,” BCB chief physician Dr. Devashis Chowdhury said yesterday.
Dr. Devashis came to know from the eye consultant that sometimes it takes six months to be healed from such sort of problem. In that case, Mosaddek even may miss the South Africa tour.
Mosaddek though has no problem to move and do the usual activities, the heat of the sun causes problem.
