IT Job Fair 2017 held at UIU
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of United International University (UIU) organised the UIU IT Job Fair 2017 on Friday in association with Centre for Development of IT Professionals (CDIP), UIU Cisco Networking Academy and Career Counseling Centre (CCC) of UIU, says a press release.
The objective of this job fair was to increase employment opportunities for the UIU graduates and offer wider choice for selection to the recruiters. In association with this Job Fair, a half-day workshop, titled IT Career Guidance was organised recently. Around 100 final semester students of the CSE department participated in this workshop.
Discussion held at Open University
A discussion marking National Mourning Day was held at Bangladesh Open University in Board Bazaar area of Gazipur city on Sunday. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque spoke as the chief guest in the meeting while vice chancellor of the university professor Dr MA Mannan presided over the meeting.
Commander of Gazipur district Muktijoddha Sangsad Kazi Mozammel Haque, pro-VC of the university professor Dr. Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain, treasurer professor Dr Ashfak Hossain, registrar Dr Abul Hossain Ahmed Bhuiyan and acting director of Information and Public relation department Mohammed Abul Kashem Sikder spoked among others in the programme.
BAU will donate one day salary to the flood affected people
The authorities of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) will donate one day equivalent salary of teachers, officers and officials of the university to the flood victims.
The decision was taken after a meeting held at the Pro-vice-chancellors chamber of BAU on Monday. Two-third of the money will be donated to the prime ministers relief fund and the rest amount will be used to distribute relief to the flood affected people, the decision has been taken in the meeting also.
Chaired by the Pro-VC Prof Dr Md Josimuddin Khan, leaders from the tecahers, officers and officials community along with the university registrar, proctor and treasurer were present in the meeting.
Syndicate meeting of Gono Bishwabidyalay held
The 7th Syndicate meeting of Gono Bishwabidyalay (GB) was held on 21 August at the conference room of Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital, Dhanmondi, in the capital, says a press release. Gono Bishwabidyalays Vice-chancellor (current) Prof Doctor Laila Parveen Banu presided over the meeting.
Prof Amirul Islam Chowdhury, Prof Abul Qasem Chowdhury and Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, Syndicate Members and Trustees of Gono Bishwabidyalay, Prof Sharif Enamul Kabir, Former Vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, Prof Md Taibul Hasan Khan, Dept of History, Jahangirnagar University, Prof Sharifullah Bhuyian, Dept of History, Dhaka University, Prof Dr M Iqbal Zuberi, Dean, Faculty of Arts Social Sciences and Md. Delower Hossain, Registrar, Gono Bishwabidyalay were present in the meeting.
The members of the syndicate discussed and approved minutes of the 6th syndicate meeting, the audit report of 2015-2016 fiscal year, budget of 2017-2018 fiscal year and other proposals.
Online admission process at RU begins Sept 10
The online application procedure of honours exam at the Rajshahi University (RU) under the academic sessions of 2017-18 will begin from September 10 at 12 pm and will continue till September 24 at 12 am.
The RU authorities reinstate to take part in intake test for the second time for the examinee that were passed HSC or equivalent examinations in 2016 and 2017 which was cut-off at the university by the administration in 2015.
The requirement GPA to register for admission test has been fixed GPA 7.00, 7.50, and 8.00 in total computing the score of secondary school certificate (SSC) and higher school certificate (HSC) exam for the students from Humanities, Business Studies, and Science group respectively. Applicants having the background of business studies and science would have minimum GPA 3.50 separately in SSC and HSC while this criterion for the students from humanities group is GPA 3.00.
Admission seekers can register for the test by sending a message (SMS) through any number of telecom operator Teletalk from 10 to 24 September following fulfill the prescribed online application form. Details of the admission test, registration procedure, fee payment, student eligibility are available on the university website www.ruet.ac.bd.
IU declares 10-day Eid vacation from Aug 26
ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY: Islamic University (IU) here declared a 10-day vacation from August 26 on the occasion of the holy Eid-Ul-Azha and death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The official activities of all departments and administrative offices will remain closed till September 6, registrar office officials said yesterday.
The academic and administrative activities will resume on September 9, they added.
Besides, the authorities of provosts council have asked the residential students of the university to leave the halls by August 24 at 9am. The residential halls will be opened for the students on September 9 at 9am, said Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman, president of provosts council.
Meanwhile, A day-long religious discussion and cultural function was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on the occasion of Jonma Astami.
IU Hindu Community organised the function at the university Bir Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman auditorium.
IU vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari present at the discussion programme as the chief guest while pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, Brommochari Boesnabanando Das and Trivango Mukunda Das were present as the special guests.
