DU observes ‘Black Day’

BSS

Dhaka University (DU) today observed the 'Black Day' marking the crackdown on students and teachers by Army personnel during the caretaker government on August 23, 2007, reports BSS.

Wearing black badges, DU teachers and students observed various programmes, including discussion and human chain, on the campus.

A discussion was held at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium at 11:30 am with DU Vice-chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair. Addressing the discussion, Professor Arefin Siddique said masterminds of the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman should be identified and brought to the book.

“We should also identify the people, who are hatching conspiracy against DU and working against the spirit of Liberation War,” he said.
