Robbers kill two, loot 10 cows

Unidentified criminals killed two people and looted 10 cows from a farm at village Gopalpur in Mymensingh sadar upazila early yesterday.

The victims are night guard of the farm Md Idris Ali, 32, son of Hasen Ali and Mozaffar Hossain Moza, 30, son of Asan Ali Hashu Morol of village Gopalpur.

In the morning, local people found the bodies in the village and informed police. One of the bodies was floating in a pond.

On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The miscreants looted 10 cows worth around Tk six lakh from Akashi Agro-Insdustry owned by Anisul Haque hails from Tangail. Akashi Agro-Insdustry contains fish farming and dairy farm, police sources said quoting its owner Anisul.

Quoting Abdul Hamid, a night guard of the farm, Mohammad Noor-e-Alam, additional police superintendent of Mymensingh said a gang of some 15 robbers entered into the farm from its behind where guard Idris Ali was on duty early yesterday.

The night guard might have identified the gang members and so they threw him into a nearby pond tying up his hands and legs, said the ASP.

They also beat up night guard Abdul Hamid when they were looting away the cows from the farm, the ASP added.

The robbers who came to the farm kept their truck a little away from the farm and when they were fleeing boarding the cow in the truck, neighbour Mozaffar Hossain Moza might see the incident. So the gang killed him too and left the body nearby his house, the ASP informed. There was a serious injury in Moza’s head, police sources said.  

Police also arrested Abu Taher, another night guard of the farm from the spot for his alleged involvement in the robbery.
