Ex-JCD leader held in Sylhet

Police arrested a former leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) from Chowkidekhi area of Sylhet city on Sunday night, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Nabil Raja, son of Farhad Raza Chowdhury and a former assistant-organising secretary of Sylhet city unit of JCD.

Jedan Al Musa, additional deputy commissioner (media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), said that on secret information a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Nabil around 12am.

Nabil was accused in several cases including rape, extortion, said the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) official.
