Ex-MP Tipu Sultan laid to rest

Former MP from Jessore-5 constituency Khan Tipu Sultan was laid to eternal rest in Dumuria upazila of Khulna district yesterday. He was buried at his family graveyard in Dhamalia village in the upazila after Maghrib prayers following five namaz-e-janajas. Earlier, his body reached Jessore district town from Dhaka in the afternoon. People from all walks of life paid their last respects to Tipu Sultan in front of the district Amawi League office.

A guard of honour was also given to him before a janaja here.

Khan Tipu Sultan died at a hospital in the capital on Saturday night.

Tipu Sultan was elected a Member of Parliament from Jessore-5 constituency in 1991, 1996 and 2008 with Awami League ticket.
