Bangladesh drub Sri Lanka 4-0

Faysal Ahmed slammed a hat-trick as the defending champions Bangladesh national Under-15 football team began their SAFF age group competition in style drubbing Sri Lanka by 4-0 yesterday.

Held at the ANFA Academy Complex ground, Nepal, Bangladesh boys led the first half by 3-0 with Faisal striking twice and Nazmul added one goal. Faysal completed his hattrick in the second half to steer Bangladesh to a flying start.

The competition, which was organised for Under-16 but this time it is being held for the Under-15 while these teams ultimately will play in the AFC Under-16 competition.

According to an online information, the defending champions Bangladesh grabbed the deserving win playing with full dominance and they could have won the match with bigger margin.

However, Bangladesh, who went ahead 2-0 on half an hour mark, opened the account on 28th minute through Faysal, who put the Red and Green into lead with a superb strike from the left of D-box to the right top corner, Sri Lankan custodian Sandeepa got no chance to stop the powerful shot (1-0).

Bangladesh doubled the advantage four minutes later with another strike from Faysal, who after having a shot pass from a free kick near the edge of the box, fired his shot to the bottom right corner beyond the reach of the goalkeeper on 32nd (2-0).

Nazmul Biswas extended the margin on 44th minute with a beautiful strike from outside the box when his pin-pointed right footer reached in the top corner of the post (3-0).

Faysal completed his hat-trick with converting a spot kick on 74th minute when Sri Lankan defender brought down Yasin in danger area and referee directed for spot kick (4-0).
