88 arrested in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: Police, in special drives from Thursday night to yesterday morning, arrested 88 persons, including five drug traders, and recovered eight bottles of Phensidyl syrup, 260-gram hemp and 29 pieces of Yaba tablets from eight upazilas of the district, reports BSS.

During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 58 persons, including three drug traders with 150-gram of hemp, and 11 pieces of Yaba tablets, Kalaroa police nine persons, including a drug trader with 110-gram of hemp, Tala police four, Kaliganj police arrested two accused, Shyamnagar police six, Assasuni police arrested three persons, including a drug trader with 18 pieces of yaba tablets, Patkelghata police two accused and Debhata police arrested four accused.

Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, police added.

The arrested were sent to jail.
