DHAKA: With an aim of introducing the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and exposing the conspiracies behind his dreadful assassination, a two-day documentary screening scheme was implemented in as many as 250 schools across the country, reports BSS.
Held between August 16 and 17, a 20-minute documentary, debunking the smears surrounding the assassination of the father of the nation, was projected before an audience comprising students numbered around 7,500.
The screening took place at the Sheikh Russell Digital Labs (SRDL) constructed in the said number of schools throughout the country, said a press release here today.
This screening programme coincides with Young Bangla's initiative, a youth platform the country, to oversee ICT training and supervise, monitor and maintain the overall activities in all the labs till 2018.
Earlier in last October, the ICT Division and Center for Research and Information (CRI), which works as the secretariat of Young Bangla, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for imparting training to 2001 digital labs set up under SRDL project in educational institutions across the country.
The goal of this move is to orient the students with the works of the architect of our independence-- how he, being an ordinary boy became the leader to lead a nation for its independence, and how a wave of smears were waged to defame his contribution and justify the grisly assassination, said Tonmoy Ahmed, assistant coordinator of Center for Research and Information (CRI).
