One killed in road crash
A driver was killed and his helper injured when a covered van hit another one in Daklapara area in Buringchar upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mafizur Rahman, son of Abdul Kader Mia, hailed from Nararun area of Jhikargachha upazila in Jessore.
Highway police said the accident took place when a Chittagong-bound covered van hit another covered van at 7:00 am, leaving Mafizur, driver of the second one, dead on the spot. The injured helper was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
