Police filed a case in connection with the death of militant Saiful Islam who was killed in an anti-militant drive at Hotel Olio International in the city on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Sub-inspector Imrul Kayes of Kalabagan police station filed the case accusing some unnamed associates of Saiful under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Wednesday night, said Yasir Arafat, officer-in-charge of the police station.
Suspected “Neo JMB’ militant Saiful reportedly blew himself up detonating bombs in room No 301 of the residential hotel at the city's Panthapath during the anti-militant drive of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.
The CTTC had secret information that the militants were planning to commit acts of sabotage at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital during the August 15 rally.
