Teacher arrested for raping schoolgirl in capital

Police have arrested a school teacher for allegedly raping a female student of Morning Glory School in Pallabi area of Mirpur Section -12 in the city on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

The arrestee is Sujon, 24.

According to case statement, Sujon called in the class-IX student at school to talk to her over coaching issue at 8:00 pm and raped her.

Sensing the incident, locals rushed in and rescued the girl and caught the teacher. On information, police arrested the teacher, said Dadon Fakir, officer-in charge of Pallabi Police Station.

Following the incident, victim's father filed a case. The victim was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for a medical test, the OC added.
