Shilpakala observes martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu thru elaborate programmes

Marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) arranged a two-day cultural programme on August 15 and 16 at its National Theatre Hall in the capital. With the titled ‘Shilper Aloy Bangabandhu’, the programme began with placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and a discussion on August 15. In the cultural segment, child artistes of BSA presented chorus songs ‘Dhonyo Mujib Dhonyo’ and ‘Jotodin Robe Padma Meghna’, while group dances were performed with the songs ‘Tumi Bine Mujib’ directed by Benazir Salam Sumi, ‘Bichar Chai Bichar Chai’ directed by Belayet Hossain, ‘Onek Rokto Diyeci Amra’ directed by Warda Rihab, ‘Mujib Ache Banglar Ghore Ghore’ directed by Anisul Islam Hiru and ‘Bangla Hindu Banglar Bouddho’ directed by Anik Bose.

In the solo part, Moloy Kumar Ganguly rendered ‘Jodi Raat pohale Sona Jeto Bangabandhu More Nai’, while Yasmin Ali rendered ‘Dukhini Bangla Janani Bangla’, Manoranjan Ghoshal rendered ‘O Naiyare Tumi Ki Tungipara Jao’, Nomita Ghosh rendered ‘Amra Kemone Bhuilibo Bangabandhu Ke’. Besides, Kiron Chandra Ray, Subir Nandi and Sajed Akbar also rendered songs in the programme while SM Mohsin and Daliha Ahmed recited poems.

Besides, Prachyanaut, Padatik Natya Sandsad (TSC), Dhaka Theatre, Theatre Art Unit and Oboyob Natyadal presented choreography presentation of their plays.

On the other hand, the second day event, yesterday, featured chorus rendition, group dance, recitation, music and choreography presentation of various theatre troupes.

Artistes performed a group dance with the song ‘Sare Saat Koti Manusher Ar Ekti Nam’ under the direction of Snaha Sahreen, while Deepa Khandakar directed the group dance ‘Dukhini Bangla Janani Bangla’, Kabirul Islam Ratan directed ‘Jotodin Robe Padma Meghna’ and MR Wasek directed dance for the song ‘Shono Ekti Mujiburer Theke’.

In the solo part, Shibu Ray rendered ‘Satya Kokhono Haray Na’, while Kamalika Chakraborti rendered ‘Ekjon Bangabandhu Ekta Bishal Buk’, Rina Amin rendered ‘Bondhure Dake Bangladesh’, Alam Dewan rendered ’15-e August-e Pran Kandere’, Salma Chowdhury rendered ‘Bangla Mayer Kol Alo’ and others. Besides, Baul Abdur Rahim Noor, Baul Abdur Rashik rendered songs at the event while poet Nirmalendu Goon, Shimul Mustapha and Jharna Sarkar recited poems.

On the other hand, theatre troupes PrangoneMor, Vision Theatre, Batighor, Teerondaz Natya Dal and artistes of BSA Prant Natok Mohastangor presented choreography presentation of their plays.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy also came up with an array of programmes scheduled to be held throughout the entire month of August on its premises in the capital. BSA launched the month-long event--featuring discussion, art exhibition, art camp, staging plays, art competition and cultural programmes--on August 1.
