BSS

RAJSHAHI: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, has said the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman could not be deleted from the people’s mind till the Bangladesh is existed, reports BSS.

Recalling the greatest contribution of Bangabandhu to the independence of Bangladesh, he said the fugitive convicted killers of Bangabandhu and his family members will not go unpunished.

All the fugitive convicts will be brought back to the country and punishment of each of those will be executed on this soil so that none can dare to commit such types of heinous crimes. He was addressing two separate meetings and doa mahfils on the occasion of the August 15 National Mourning Day and 42nd Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh

Mujibur Rahman yesterday afternoon as chief guest. Local units of Awami League organized the meetings at Bagha Upazila Parishad auditorium and Charghat Upazila Pilot High School playground of the district.

State Minister Shahriar Alam said the BNP-Jamat axis has been hatching a deep-rooted conspiracy against the pro-liberation forces with an ulterior motive to foil the next general election. He urged the leaders and workers of Awami League and all its front organisations to be united to thwart all the anti-nation conspiracies.

Pourasava Mayor Akkas Ali, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hamidul Islam and Awami League leaders Ashraful Islam, Anwar Hossain, Sazzad Hossain and Fatema Khatun, among others, also addressed the meetings.

Shahriar said the Awami League government would once again come to power as the people would re-elect the party for continuing the ongoing development spree and improving their living standard. He said whenever the Awami League remains in power the people get the chance of uplifting their socio-economic condition.

“We've already stepped into the stair of a lower middle-income country from the lower-income nation. Bangladesh doesn't want to stay at the lower ladder... it wants to climb up,” Shahriar said. He said Bangladesh is moving ahead in all fronts and the government is determined to turn the country into a peaceful abode in South Asia. Shahriar Alam urged the party leaders and workers to win the hearts of the general people for making Awami League victorious in the next general election.
