Poet Shamsur Rahman's 11th death anniv today

The 11th death anniversary of one of the major poets in modern Bengali literature, Shamsur Rahman, will be observed today, reports BSS.

Different socio-cultural organisations have drawn up different programmes to mark the day.

Jatiya Kabita Parishad, Kabi Shamsur Rahman Foundation, Kabi Shamsur Rahman Smriti Parishad and poet's family members will place floral wreaths at the poet's grave at Banani graveyard in the city at 10.30 am today, Kabi Shamsur Rahman Smriti Parishad Secretary and Jatiya Kabita Parishad President poet Muhammad Samad told BSS yesterday.

Poet Muhammad Samad urged all followers and disciples of Shamsur Rahman to be present at the Banani graveyard in time to pay homage to the poet.
