Khoka, six others indicted in graft case

A Dhaka court today framed charges against former Mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) and BNP leader Sadek Hossain Khoka in a graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), reports BSS.

Dhaka fifth special judges court passed the order, setting September 21 for start recording the depositions of the witnesses in the case.

The other six accused are DCC officials Motaleb Hossain, Faruk Hossain, Bachchu Miah, Mohammad Ali, Sahabuddin Sabu and Mohsin Uddin Morol.

According to case documents, the accused misused their official status and resorted to corruption in allotting space in basement of Dhaka Trade Center in capital's Gulistan area.

The ACC filed the case against them on August 24, 2014, and filed charge sheet on September 22, 2015.
