2 killed,16 hurt in accidents

Two persons were killed and 16 injured in separate road accidents yesterday.

Our Jessore correspondent says, a young man was killed and 15 others were injured in a road accident at Beneali on Jessore- Benapole highway under Jhikargachha upazila yesterday noon.

The deceased was identified as Raju, 20, of Shimulia village in Jhikargachha upazila.

Abu Saleh Md Masud Karim, officer in-charge of Jhikargachha Police Station said the accident took place at around 12 pm as a bus hit a roadside tree after the driver of the Satkhira bound bus lost control over the steering, leaving Raju dead on the spot and 15 others injured.

In Habiganj, a boy was killed and his mother injured as a truck hit them in Nabiganj upazila yesterday, reports BSS.

The boy was identified as Nazmul, 10, a resident at Sharangpur village of Bahubal upazila of the district.
