The Parliament Committee yesterday recommended strengthening security for the residences of MPs in the capital’s Manik Miah Avenue and Nakhalpara areas, reports UNB.
It suggested the authorities concerned not to allow cars without designated stickers into the house premises and search vehicles at the entry points by security men.
The committee came up with the recommendations at its 12th meeting held with its chairman and chief whip ASM Feroz in the chair at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The parliamentary body asked to change lifts at the MPs’ residence in Manik Miah Avenue soon. It suggested appointment of security men including night guard against vacant posts and installment of adequate electric lamps to ensure security for MPs’ residences in Manik Miah Avenue and Nakhalpara, and recruitment of clean workers for the residences.
