Sri Lankan professor meets DU VC
Computer Science and Engineering Department Professor of the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka, Dr Gihan Dias on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on the campus.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking collaborative academic and research programmes on engineering and technology by the University of Dhaka and the University of Moratuwa, said a DU press release here.
They also exchanged views on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard soon, the release added.
Eastern University hosts reception
Eastern University (EU) hosted a reception in recognition of its graduating students of summer 2017 semester yesterday on the EU premises in the capital, says a press release.
Graduates of these 4 faculties attended the programme. Engr Kh Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of EU was present in the programme as the chief guest. Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice- chancellor of EU presided over the function while Mohammed Ali Azzam, Member, BoT was present as the special guest. The programme started with a welcoming speech by Muhammed Siddique Hossain, Treasurer of the university.
4th Model UN Conference at RU from Oct 6
United Nations Youth Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) will organise a four-day long 4th Model United Nations Conference-2017 at the Rajshahi University (RU) campus from October 6 and it will continue to October 9.
The Theme for the conference is Flourishing Youth as Resource for Contributing in SDGs through Innovation, Leadership Social Security.
The conference will begin in Shahid Sukhoranjan Samadder Teachers-Students Cultural Center (TSCC) and Shahriar Alam, state minister for the foreign affairs ministry, will be the chief guest.
