In the match that was the center of the attraction for the Bangladeshi fans, specially to watch the duel of Shakib Al Hasan and Mehedi Hasan Miraj, came as shocker. While Mehedi Miraj wasn’t drafted into his side Trinbago Knight Riders, Shakib Al Hasan couldn’t dazzle with in batting or bowling for Jamaica Tallahwahs. However Jamaica still romped to a four-wicket victory over Trinbago to give them their first defeat in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) yesterday.
Trinbago indeed paid for the collapse that saw them losing eight wickets for 38 runs. Shakib Al Hasan scored 16 off 22 in batting while remain wicket-less in bowling after delivering just one over in which he gave away 12 runs. Trinbago was bowled out for 147 in 19.5 overs which Jamaica overhauled with four balls to spare, scoring 148 for six. Captain Kumar Sangakkara led the victory with 41 ball-47, sending the ball across the rope for seven times.
Trinbago was 109 for two in 10 overs and heading towards a big total before Keskaric Williams brought them down to the ground with a sensational spell. Williams took three for 26.
