Two women �gang raped�

Two women were allegedly gang-raped, one in Chittagong and the other in the capital yesterday. A tribal woman was reportedly raped by a group of miscreants at Kumirgul Ahmed Jute mill area in Sitakunda of Chittagong. The woman’s husband alleged that Monindra Tripura, 23, and Jatindra Tripura,22, abducted his wife from his house around 1am on Friday. They tied him in the room and raped his wife. Saiful Islam, police superintendent of Sitakunda, said the victim’s husband filed a case under Women and Child Repression Act against seven people, including Monidra and Jatindra Tripura. The woman has been sent to the one-stop crisis centre of Chittagong Medical College Hospital. In Mirertak of the capital, a housewife was allegedly gang-raped by three men yesterday. “The victim was living in a room of a rickshaw garage at Mirertak. Hashem, 30, and two others walked into her room around 1am and raped her. They intimidated the victim with a sharp weapon,” said Sub-inspector Mohiudding of Ramna Police Station.
