A work abstention programme enforced by Truck-Tank Lorry Worker’s Union in the district led to the suspension of loading and unloading of goods at Ashuganj port from yesterday morning, reports UNB from Brahmanbaria.
The union has enforced the work abstention in
protest against the grabbing of the land of its office at Ashuganj intersection allegedly by local Sramik League activists.
Union general secretary Abul Khair claimed that some miscreants, introducing themselves as Sramik League activists, hung a signboard on the land four-five days ago claiming its ownership.
