Rajshahi city to have modern slaughter house

RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is going to set up a modern slaughter house and a bio-gas plant for hygienic management of slaughterhouse wastages, reports BSS.

With the financial assistance of German Development Corporation (GIZ), the construction of Saheb Bazar slaughter house is likely to begin in October this year.

RCC Mayor Musaddique Hossain Bulbul conducted a meeting with two officials of GIZ at Nagar Bhaban here Wednesday.

RCC Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque, Superintending Engineer Khairul Bashar, Chief Health Officer Dr Anjuman Ara Begum, Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun and Veterinary Surgeon Dr Farhad Uddin were present at the meeting.

Mayor Bulbul said time has come to strengthen the local government institutions making them enable to combat the spread of different types of diseases, particularly anthrax.
