The High Court yesterday asked the authorities concerned to form an inquiry commission to identify those who cooked up the stories of 'corruption conspiracy' in the Padma Bridge project and submit a report within August 31, reports UNB.
An HC bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order expressing dissatisfaction over not constituting any committee or commission to identify the plotters. The HC also fixed October 3 for the next hearing.
Earlier, on February 15, the HC issued a rule asking the government to explain as to why the authorities concerned should not be directed to form a inquiry commission to identify those who cooked up the stories of 'corruption conspiracy' over Padma Bridge.
It also asked the cabinet secretary to submit the compliance report over the formation of the commission within 30 days.
The bench passed the suo moto order taking cognisance of a report carried by Bangla daily Inqilab on February 14 under caption 'Yunuser bichar dabi' (Trial of Yunus demanded).
