Month-long workshop for BUP officials begins
A month-long training workshop for officials of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) began on Tuesday at the university's central conference room at Mirpur Cantonment in the capital.
BUP Office of the Evaluation, Faculty and Curriculum Development (OEFCD) organised the workshop, said a BUP press release. Vice-Chancellor (VC) of BUP Maj Gen Md Salahuddin Miaji inaugurated the programme as the chief guest with BUP OEFCD Dean and International Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Commodore Syed Misbahuddin Ahmed in the chair. Registrar of BUP Brig Gen Abul Kashem Md Ibrahim addressed the function as special guest while teachers and senior civil and military officials of the university were present, among others. The workshop will continue till August 29.
Inter-varsity debate starts at RU on 3 Aug
A three-daya long Inter-varsity Debate will be held today on the campus. Rajshahi University Business Studies Faculty Forum (RU BFDF) organized the event for the first time on the campus.
RU BFDF executive member Fahmida Afroz confirmed at a press conference on the university Central Cafeteria on Tuesday where it founder adviser and also former RU Teachers Association General Secretary Prof Dr Shah Azam Shantanu was present. More than 50 debating groups from Dhaka University, Chittagong University, Barisal University, and Khulna University, Rajshahi Medical College and other private colleges and universities debating groups have completed their registration to present on the program, she added.
Intra-IUB Table Tennis Tournament concludes
The Division of Student Affairs (DoSA) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organised an intra-IUB Table Tennis Tournament Summer 2017, says a press release.
Final match of the tournament and prize giving ceremony was held on Tuesdayat IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
Rashed Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB, and Prof M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB witnessed the final match as the Chief Guest and Special Guest respectively and later on, distributed prizes among the winners.
Int’l seminar on folklore held at IU
ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY: An international seminar on ‘Contemporary Trends in Folklore’ was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Sunday. IU Folklore Studies Department organised the seminar at Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university around10:00 am.
IU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari attended the seminar as the chief guest while Pro-VC Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, its Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Dean Prof Dr M Habibur Rahman and Bangla Department Prof Dr Abul Ahsan Chowdhury attended as the special guests with the departmental chairman Prof Dr M Saidur Rahman in the chair.
