Tk 1,013cr Rangpur city budget unveiled

RANGPUR: Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) yesterday proposed Taka 1,012.78 crore budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal without imposing afresh tax, reports BSS.

Mayor of Rangpur Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu announced the budget at a ceremony held at the conference room of RpCC here. Chief Executive Officer of RpCC Akhter Hossain Azad, its Superintending Engineer Emdad Hossain, Executive Engineer Azam Ali, Secretary Abu Saleh Md Musa Jongi, Chief Accounts Officer Abdul Hakim Mian and councilors from different wards were present.

Mayor Jhantu said the existing tax rates would remain unchanged in the next budget and necessary fund for implementation of proposed development programmes has already been ensured by local and foreign sources. Of the budget, Taka 90.85 crore will come from revenue earnings while Taka 921.92 crore from various development assistances, he said.
