The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday arrested three teachers of Hazirhat Upakul College in Laxmipur, including its principal, from Noakhali in a graft case.
An ACC team, lead by assistant director Al-Mamun of its Naokhali district office, arrested them from Maizdee area of Noakhali around 11 am, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The arrestees are college principal Abdul Motaleb, assistant professor Fakhrul Islam and lecturer (computer) Md Akter Hossain. On January 9, 2017, a case was filed with a Senior Judge Court in Noakhali for recruiting two college teachers violating the rules.
Earlier, Motaleb appointed Fakhrul and Akter Hossain in his college although they were not eligible for the posts and later, both of them were promoted.
