New board of PIB formed with Golam Sarwar as chairman

The government yesterday formed a new board of directors of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) with Dainik Samokal Editor Golam Sarwar as its chairman, reports BSS.
The board will act for next two years with immediate effect, according to a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Information.
The members of the 13-member board are: Editor of Bhorer Kagoj Shyamal Dutta, Editor of Banik Barta Hanif Mahmud, Treasurer of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Madhusudan Mondal, Joint Secretary General of BFUJ Amiya Ghatak Pulok, Chairman of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University, Joint Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry Md Aminul Islam Khan, Director General, External Publicity Affairs (DGEP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Lutfar Rahman, Joint Secretary (Press) of the Information Ministry Md Mizanul Islam, Honorary Professor of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University Dr Sakhawat Ali Khan, Advisory Editor of Dainik Bartoman Swapon Saha, Principal Information Officer (PIO) of the Press Information Department (PID) and Director General of the PIB Md Shah Alamgir. Eminent journalist Golam Sarwar was appointed chairman of the board about one and a half years back after the death of the then chairman Habibur Rahman Milon.
