SAVAR: A woman was killed in wall collapse in Harindhara area in Savar on the outskirts of the capital on Thursday, reports UNB. The deceased identified as Piara Begum, 30, hailed from Sadarpur village in Chapainawabganj district. Police said Piara used to work as a cook at Metro Tannery in the area. On Thursday, a portion of wall of the tannery collapsed on her as a pipe used for pilling fell on the wall while she was working in the kitchen room of the tannery, leaving Piara Begum dead on the spot. Police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for autopsy, said assistant sub-inspector of tannery police camp Kamruzzaman.
