A lone strike from Mohammed Rony steered Brothers Union to a solitary goal victory over Rahmatganj MFS in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
By virtue of winning the match Brothers lifted their tally to 32 points from 18 matches to keep a slim hope to be among top three.
However, Rahmatganj have already pulled them out from relegation zone obtaining 14 points from 18 matches.
Mohammed Rony scored the all important goal early in the 14th minute when he just tabbed the ball into net from a close range after Emrul Hassan cut back the ball inside the area (1-0).
Rest of the time, Brothers played with domination and also went closer to score goals but the forwards looked very shaky to utilise the chances which came in their way.
And away at Chittagong M A Aziz Stadium in Chittagong, Team BJMC shared points with Chittagong Abahani in another match.
The match ended in a goalless draw.
