Tigers prepare to play better cricket against Aussies

Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim describes the next home series against Australia will not be easier for them, stating that they are preparing themselves to play better cricket against the stronger side to hint a message to world cricket of their progress in Test.

Bangladesh will play their next series against the top-flight Australia at home yard in between August and September following their progress in Test cricket besides their meteoric surge in one-day cricket.

The Tigers won Test match against the top-notch England in October last year. Therefore, they played against New Zealand, India and Sri Lanka wherein they showcased their uptrend performance in longer version.

In its continuation, they will play two-Test series against the Aussie, who agreed to tour to Bangladesh following a bitter dispute between the Cricket Australia and the Australia Cricketers’ Association (ACA).

“The entire team is excited. Almost passing 12-year in cricket, I don’t get chance to play against Australia yet. Inshaallha if every thing is okay we’ll get an opportunity to play against the high-ranked team,” said Mushfiqur Rahim.

“The way Bangladesh team has been playing better cricket for the last few years if we could play better cricket against the Test playing nation like Australia, it will then give a different message to the world cricket. We played the last home series against England,” Mushfiq told media at a programme in the capital yesterday.
