Three persons died from electrocution in different areas of the capital yesterday. In Khilgaon, Roksana Akter, 28, was electrocuted when she came in contact with a live electric wire in front of her rented house at Nandipara in the area around 9am yesterday, said victim’s husband Zillur Rahman. She was rushed to the hospital where on-duty doctors declared her dead around 11am, he said. Meanwhile, Shawkat Hossain, 24, a worker of an under constructed building of Haji Anwar Hossain, came in contact with a electric wire while cutting tiles at Matubberbazar in Kamrangirchar around 10am, said Akkas, a co-worker of Shawkat. He was rushed to the hospital but the duty doctor declared him dead, he added. In Purana Palatan, a minor boy Uzzal Hossain, who worked in a shop, died from electrocution. Fazlul Haque, the owner of Fahim Enterprise, said, “Uzzal was electrocuted while he was cleaning the shop. He touched the switch board and electrocuted, he said adding, that Uzzal was rushed to the hospital and died around 12pm.
