667 arrested in 7 months from Rangpur

RANGPUR: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in separate operations arrested 667 criminals, including 14 militants, along with huge illegal arms, ammunitions and drugs during the last seven months from Rangpur division, reports BSS.

Rangpur Battalion Commander of RAB-13 ATM Atikullah disclosed the information at a press briefing here on Monday afternoon.

“The arrested persons included 14 operatives of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahedeen Bangladesh (JMB), 11 arms traders, five top terrorists, a government employee for issuing about 400 fake licenses of firearms, 225 drug traders and other criminals," he said.

Members of the elite force also seized 12 illegal firearms with huge ammunitions and drugs and narcotics substances worth over Taka 1.30 crore during the period from January to July this year, he said.
