Sixteen students of Rajshahi University (RU) were granted bail in two separate cases filed by the police accusing attack on cops and rampage on the campus during the demonstration on the issues of fees-hike and stop evening course on February 2, 2014.
Rajshahi Metropolitan chief Judge Md Aktarul Alam granted the bail yesterday.
Advocate Monna Saha confirmed the news and said sixteen students received advance bail from the Chief Judicial Court of Rajshahi.
In the charge-sheet police mentioned the name of 43 students including 16 leaders-activists of Progressive Students Alliance (PSA. It is mentioned that on February 2 in 2014 over hundreds general students were wounded by the attack of BCL men and police during the demonstration against authorities’ decision to fees hike and introducing evening course on the campus.
