President Md Abdul Hamid reached Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, on his way to Vietnam on a seven-day state visit, reports UNB. On his arrival at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok at 3pm local time, the President was received by Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Sadia Muna Tasneem. President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told UNB over telephone from Bangkok. President Abdul Hamid, who left Dhaka for Bangkok by a VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines this morning, exchanged greetings with the passengers at the aircraft. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Robert Gibson, Chiefs of three services, Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary, IGP and high civil and military officials saw him off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The President is expected to return home on August 13 evening.
