A special musical programme featuring traditional Bangla songs titled ‘Hazar Bochhorer Bangla Gaan’ was held at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital on Saturday. BSA and Government Music College jointly organised the programme to present the songs from ancient time to the present day.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor attended the event as chief guest. Presided over by BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Ibraheem Hossain Khan was present as special guest. Principal of the Government Music College Kristi Hefaz delivered the welcome speech at the programme.
After the discussion, artistes of BSA and Government Music College presented the Geetakhyan with the titled ‘Hazar Bochhorer Bangla Gaan’.
Besides, dances and chorus rendition with Charjagan, Baul, Rabindra Sangeet, Bishnupur Gharana, Nazrul Geeti, Shyama Sangeet, Dwijendrageeti, Atulprasadi, Prabhat Samgiita, classical song, song of Bangla movies, rock music and much more were presented in the programme.
