Chargesheet to follow Rashed’s grilling: Monirul

The chargesheet in the Gulshan café attack case will be submitted after the interrogation of militant Rashed alias Rash, said Monirul Islam, the chief of Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit yesterday, reports UNB.

Rashed, also a close accomplice of chief coordinator of Gulshan attack Tamim Chowdhury, was one of the main plotters of the attack, he told a press conference at DMP Headquarters.

Rashed also provided arms and training to the attackers, Monirul said.

He also helped rent a house in Bashundhara residential area and had been playing an important role in Neo JMB, he added.

Meanwhile, a Dhaka court yesterday put Rashed alias Rash alias Abu Jarra on a five-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrage Nurunnahar Yeasmin passed the order after Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), also the investigation officer of the case, Humayun Kabir produced him before the court asking for a 10-day remand.

On Friday, police arrested Rashed from Singra upazila in Natore district.

Some gunmen attacked Holey Artisan Bakery at Gulshan diplomatic zone in the city on July 1, 2016, killing 20 hostages, mostly foreign nationals.
