Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday called upon all including the public servants to put up resistance against terrorism, militancy and drug addiction to save the future generations from these evil activities, reports BSS.
"Corruption will have to be rooted out from the society at any cost and the future generation will have to be protected by building resistance against terrorism, militancy and drug addiction," she told the Bangladesh Administrative Services Association (BASA) Annual Conference-2017 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
Stating that the main responsibilities of the public servants is to serve the people, the prime minister also sought sincere cooperation of the public servants to implement her government's Vision-2021 and Vision-2041 to build a prosperous and developed Bangladesh.
"Let's build a happy, prosperous and developed Bangladesh by materialising Vision-2021 and 2041 together," she said.
Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam and State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique were present at the function as the special guests.

and BASA Vice-President Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury spoke on the occasion, while BASA Secretary General Kabir Bin Anwar gave welcome speech at the function.
A video on development-friendly public administration was screened.
Reminding the public servants that every citizen has a right to get quick government services without any harassment, the prime minister said that the public servants will have to stay alert so that development is made from the grassroots to the centre.
"We want to build Bangladesh as poverty and beggar-free country and we want to build society through balanced development meaning removing income disparity," she said.
Sheikh Hasina also asked the public servants to execute the social safety programmes properly. "You will have to give due attention so that the educational institutions and hospitals are run properly," she said, adding Bangladesh will have to be built as an educated nation.
The prime minister said her government is setting up 100 economic zones across the country for further industrialization and generating more employments.
In this connection, she said that that the public servants will have to work sincerely to attract investment in the economic zones.
Sheikh Hasina said her government's wants that there won't be single homeless in the country. "I hope that the public servants will give due attention for arrangements of housing of the homeless people and their employment," she said.
Advising the public servants to protect the evidence of the liberation war and project its true history before the generation, the prime minister said, "The history of the independence is the history of our sacrifice and pride."
"The future generations will have to know this history so that they could build themselves as a victorious nation," she said.
Sheikh Hasina said the women rights will have to be ensured as coveted development of the country is not possible leaving half of the population out of uplift process.
The prime minister said the salary of the public servants comes from the hard-earned money of the common people. "So keeping this in mind, the public servants will have to work for ensuring the welfare of the ultra poor and grassroots rural people," she said.
Sheikh Hasina said the aim of her politics is to change the lot of the common people. "We didn't come to power for changing own fate, we have come to power changing the lot of the commoners and you have got its proof," she said.
Regarding the World Bank allegation about the Padma bridge corruption, Sheikh Hasina said she cannot compromise if anybody raises question about her honesty.
