The new comer in the Bangladesh Premier League football Saif Power Sporting Club aiming to be a sensation becoming champions on debut. With this aim, the team have already appointed the Ghanaian born English coach Kim Grant, who has also a high ambition to finish on among the top three.
Kim, the 44 years old coach who played for Ghana national side as striker and also has professional back ground playing in England, while talking to The Independent yesterday at the club camp in the capital, expressed his high hope and also the disappointment of delaying the league.
“I do hope that we can achieve that what is always they want but it will take time,” Kim said about the club’s expectation.
About the interruption of the preparation Kim said, “We started preparation much before the Federation Cup and also started preparation much earlier for the league but there was big delay that not good and difficult to keep up the strictness and motivations.
He thinks till now the players are motivated 90 to 100 percent. “We played four friendly matches. We had pressure to organize and we organised everything, specially, in systematically.”
“Players are full of life, full of energy, they enjoying training, and I want the players to enjoy the training, fitness is up to the mark, they have been improved much since saw them first,” Kim revealed about the team’s condition.
“Yes, I watched them (other contenders) and also played against them. I think all the teams are almost in same level, but it depends how we approach, we do take our chances, we do attack teams, it concern how we perform, how we can react on the field.”
“Every game is difference, I know expectation is high, of course from Club, and same as Sheikh Jamal, Abahani and others, we are here to give good game, to make sure to give our maximum,” Kim evaluated other opponents.
“Of course, we know the competition will be high to make it number one, yes of course, we do like to win the league if possible, but I can not look far away.”
