DU admission test begins Sep 15
The first-year honors admission test for 2017-18 academic session of Dhaka University (DU) will begin from September 15 next.
Prof Shibli Rubiatul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, said that the date has been fixed at a Deans’ committee meeting on Wednesday. He said the possible date for the admission test of the Faculty of Business Studies has been set on September 15.
According to the schedule, Ga © unit admission test will held on September 15 while ‘Cha’ (Fine Arts) unit admission test, General Knowledge section on September 16 and the drawing test on September 23, ‘Kha (B) unit’ on September 22, ‘Ka (A) Unit’ on October 13 and ‘Gha (D) Unit’ on October 20.
Model UN conference begins at JU
A three-day model united nation conference titled ‘Jahangirnagar Model United Nations 2017’ began on Wednesday on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.
JU Model United Nation Association (JUMUNA) has organised the conference. JU Vice-chancellor Professor Farzana Islam inaugurated the conference as chief guest at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium at about 12 pm. Professor of JU International and Relations department Dr Abdullahil Kafi presided over the programme. Around 300 delegates from notable school, college and universities around the country are taking part in the conference. The conference will continue till July 29.
IUB English Debate Club becomes the champion
IUB English Debate Club has become the Champion at the United International University (UIU) English Debate Tournament held at the UIU campus in Dhanmondi, Dhaka recently, says a press release.
The top ranked team of IUB consisted of Tahsin Islam, Zobayer Ahmed, AI Faruque Ratul and Sajid Safwan.
The team took on and defeated representatives from institutions such as University of Dhaka and IBA in the closing stages of the tournament. Over 20 of the most prestigious institutions of the country took part in the competition where topics ranged from international relations, human rights and unique problems relevant to Bangladeshi diverse societies. And eventually, it was the team of IUB that went all the way to the grand finale to clinch the championship trophy.
