KCC takes steps to stop Chikungunya outbreak

KHULNA: With a view to spreading awareness of the outbreak of Chikungunya among city dwellers, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) has taken a move to distribute 50,000 leaflets and conduct awareness programmes at its 31 wards, reports BSS.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at Shaheed Altaf Auditorium of KCC with Mayor Moniruzzaman Mony in the chair recently. The meeting urged city dwellers for regularly cleaning flower tubs, refrigerators, air conditioners and open spaces on the house premises to stop breeding of Aedes mosquitoes. Mayor Moniruzzaman said KCC has taken the preventive measures to check Chikungunya outbreak.
