A court in Dhaka on Thursday sentenced three people to death for killing an employee of a shoe factory in Siddikbazar area of Gulistan in the capital, reports UNB.
The court fined the convicts-- Hasan alias Kalu, Md Joni, and Md Monir Hossain--Tk 10,000 each. Among the convicts, Hasan was present on the dock while Joni and Monir are on the run.
On August 13 of 2009, the trio swooped on Alamgir Hossain while he was returning home from his workplace around on Shyampur High School road for snatching his valuables.
As Alamgir tried to resist them they cut his throat with a knife, leaving him dead on the spot.
Victim's wife Layla Aktar filed a case with Kadamtali Police Station the next day.
After examining the records and witnesses, special sessions judge Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury handed down the verdict.
