Stocks ended week upward yesterday with rising trend of all the indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher activities of large-cap securities, reports BSS.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 32.60 points up at 5815.07. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 7.31 points up at 2129.10 and with 3.96 points up at 1317.64.
Majority of the issues traded on the two bourses closed the week up on moderate demand. Out of the 332 issues traded on DSE, 186 gained against 117 losing issues.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 38.6 per cent down at Tk 623.48 crore and the trade volume was 34 per cent down at 19.21 crore shares.
The top five gainers of the week were Jute Spinning, SAMATALETH, Rupali Bank, Safko Spinning and ISNLTD. The top five losing issues were ICBAMCL2ND, Islami Insurance, BD Auto Cars, MERCINS and Progressive Life.
The top five turnover leaders were Lanka Bangla Finance, Ifad Autos, Mercantile Bank, City Bank and Grameen Phone.
Like DSE, most of the issues traded here closed higher when both the trade value and volume of shares increased.
