DU to cancel routes if its buses ply wrong road

UNB

Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to cancel the routes of its buses if those ply wrong sides of roads violating traffic rules. The authorities took the decision in an internal meeting, said DU acting proctor AM Amzad Ali yesterday, UNB reports.

He said the bus service on a particular route will be cancelled if the authorities receive any complaint and find the evidence of traffic rule violation from the traffic control department of police, teachers or students. "They’re tainting the dignity and tradition of our university by driving buses on wrong paths," he added.

The authorities took the decision amid criticisms over driving its buses on wrong routes.
