Bangladesh has denounced the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the third holiest place for Muslims, by the authorities of Israel, which has been in its control for decades.
“Foreign minister of Bangladesh in a message to his Palestinian counterpart has denounced the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the banning of Friday prayer and imposition of other restrictions around Al Haram Al Sharif by the Israeli authorities,” said a Foreign Ministry press release yesterday. He also expressed deep condolences and sympathies to the victims of recent clashes, it said.
In his message, the foreign minister reiterated Bangladesh’s commitment in realizing the inalienable rights of the brotherly people of Palestine for an independent homeland.
He also called upon the international community to revive the Middle East Peace Process at the earliest and work towards a two-state solution.
