Premier Football League as schedule on July 28

The title of the 10th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League football will be after the name of Saif Power Battery while the Saif Powertec will remain as the sponsor of the league in accordance with five years agreement with them.

The scheduled of the Bangladesh Premier League will remain unchanged while the league kick off from the July 28 and this time league will be held in two venues- Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) and the MA Aziz Stadium Chittagong.   

Regarding the title of the league, there was a signing ceremony and the logo was unveiled yesterday at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban when Salam Murshedi, senior vice-president of the BFF and Tarafdar Ruhul Saif, director of the Saif Power Battery, the sister concern of the Saif Powertec signed on behalf of their respective parties.

Salam Murshedi, also the chairman of the Bangladesh Premier League informed the Saif Powertec will remain as the sponsor and their sister concern Saif Power Battery will be the title of the league.

But this time the sponsor money was reduced due to reducing venues while this time BFF will get taka one and half crore rather than four crore while their was a five-years’ agreement for Taka 20 crore.    

Meanwhile, there was huge talking about the withdrawal of the sponsorship of Saif Powertec when they threatened to take out their sponsorship last week and there was a little bit uncertainty cropped up whether the league would start with the schedule from July 28.

But Salam Murshedi, cleared all yesterday during the signing ceremony that Saif Powertec will remain with the football as sponsor, though they were unhappy with reducing the venues and delaying to start the league.

Salam replying to a query whether there will be any bad impact on the league as the sponsor company have a team in the league, said, “I have every belief that there would be no impact of their participation in the league, there is no way to effect. “

Tarafdar Ruhul Saif, director of the Saif Powertec and also the Saif Power Battery also cleared it out that they (Saif Powertec) will remain with football for future as we were.

“We are very keen to involve with the football, we have great passion for the game,” said Tarafdar Ruhul Saif son of Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, chairman of the Saif Powertec.

Bangladesh TV, a UK based satellite television channel will telecast live the matches of the league when the vice chairman of the channel Nishad informed that they will telecast the matches at least of the first leg while the audiences of the Europe will also able to watch the matches.
