4th ‘RUCC Job Fair-17” begins today
The two-day long 4th “RUCC Job Fair-2017” will start on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus today aimed at creating opportunities for the students through ensuring their access to the job markets.
Rajshahi University Career Club (RUCC) is organising the fair which will engage potential job seekers in recruitment process. RUCC President Kazi Mahmud Dip confirmed the information through a press release yesterday.
RU Pro Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Ananda Kumar Saha is expected to inaugurate the fair at a function as the chief guest, he added.
RUCC President Kazi Mahmud Dip said “The fair will be an excellent platform for eligible candidates to get good jobs. Senior officials and human resource experts will address the seminars to educate the students for becoming eligible candidates to get better jobs, he also added.
Aiming to development of the university brand and students` career with some hard worker, creative, industrious students started journey on June 19 in 2013.
RU students submit memo to VC
The students of Rajshahi University (RU) on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Vice-chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan, placing their four-point demands including increasing the food quality at the residential hall.
RU pro-vice chancellor Professor Ananda Kumar Saha received the memorandum on the behalf of vice chancellor as the latter’s had been absence at his office for illness for week.
On the behalf of the general students, Abdul Majid Antor of Islamic History and Culture department, Mostafizur Rahman of Institute of Education Research department and Mahmudul Mithu of Information and Communication department, among others, were submitted the memorandum.
RU student adviser Professor Mizanur Rahman and proctor Professor Mujibul Huq Azad Khan also were present there.
Seminar on chikungunya held at BAU
A seminar on chikungunya and its prevention was held on Sunday at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh.
BAU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Ali Akbar was present as chief guest in the seminar with Prof Dr Nazim Ahmad of Physiology department in the chair.
Prof Dr Md Shahiduzzaman, head of parasitology department, and Prof Dr Tofazzal Hossain Hawlader, head of entomology department, presented the keynote speech before the audiences.
During the discussion session, speakers said that chikungunya is a serious national public health concern. Everyone from their position should play role in prevention of this disease. They also said that awareness should build among the people carefully without creating any panic.
Teachers from different departments of BAU and physicians from BAU health care center participated in the seminar.
National Fish Week observed at BAU
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymenisngh observed National Fish Week-2017 on the campus on Monday. Marking the day, Fisheries faculty of BAU arranged a rally, fish fry release and discussion on the campus.
A colourul rally, led by the Vice-chancellor of BAU Professor Dr Md Ali Akbar, was started at around 11am from in front of the Fisheries faculty premises that paraded the main roads of the university and ended at the bank of Old Brahmaputra River.
Thereafter, the Vice-chancellor released fish fry in the Old Brahmaputra River. Pro-VC Prof Dr Md Jashimuddin Khan, Students Affairs’ Adviser Prof Dr SD Chawdhury, director general of Bangladesh Fish Research Institute (BFRI) Dr Yahia Mahmud, dean of Fisheries faculty Prof Dr Suvas Chandra Chakkraborti, proctor of BAU Prof Dr Md. Atikur Rahman, teachers and students of the fisheries faculty and many more were also present at that time.
Later, in the discussion meeting, Prof Dr Md Mahfujul Haque presented the keynote topic of the programme. In the discussion, the speakers urged the researchers and concerned to come forward to enrich the fisheries resources and also to fulfill the animal protein demand.
